About Us
"Eden House" is so named because when we, Ken and Violet Norman, first saw the property, we knew it was a very special place – our very own ‘Eden’ in Pembrokeshire.
The property, and its postal address, still carries its true Welsh name - Penlanfeigan - and that we'll never change. Eden House Country Guest Accommodation is however, the name by which the business is known.
The history of ‘Penlanfeigan’ can be traced back at least to the very early 1700’s, when King George III was the reigning monarch. There is a suggestion that the property may date back even further, although the existing property deeds don’t go that far!
A working farm until about 1970, Penlanfeigan has always been regarded as a significant property in the Boncath area. Over time, and as the property changed hands, its original acreage steadily diminished, but at the peak of the farm’s history it comprised of more than 50 acres in ownership, with no doubt a much larger working title.
We bought the property in June of 2000, by which time the land was no longer farmed and the acreage was down to the area it covers today – 14 acres. Together with our business partner and fellow worker, Phil Allsopp, we have set about creating our dream - to make Eden House a haven of tranquillity and relaxation, a place to rest, reflect and replenish your inner resources.
Over the years since 2000, more than 1000 new trees have been planted, and much of the land has been landscaped, steadily transforming it from farmland 
to gardens.
An old pond, fed by a natural spring and at one time the drinking place favoured by the farm’s cattle, has been reinstated to its former glory, offering a home for pond life and local wildlife.
The kitchen garden boasts 2 poly tunnels, fruit trees and a vegetable garden where every effort is made to supply the kitchen with fresh, seasonal produce. When in season, plump, fresh strawberries appear on the breakfast menu to the delight of our guests.
As we continue to build our dream, all are most welcome to share the experience and enjoy the peace, tranquillity and sheer pleasure of staying at Eden House.
